Your Unique Positive Purpose

There are some people who feel they have a negative purpose. These are destructive people who commit crimes or make the lives of others miserable. An extreme version expresses itself in mass violence. Some people seem to have a talent for negative activities.
This is why we define purpose as a "unique, positive purpose." Any talent can be used in a negative manner. But from our perspective, using one's uniqueness for negativity is an aberration of purpose. Only through using your unique talents, abilities and passions in a positive and productive manner are you fulfilling your purpose and giving meaning to your life.
The Impact of Purpose on the Universe
Think about Nelson Mandela. He was able to take South Africa directly from apartheid to democracy without violent fallout. He created an environment for a peaceful transfer of power. He fulfilled his unique, positive purpose in the universe and by doing so made a massive contribution to the world.
Celebrities with money, talent and fame could easily have a hugely positive impact on young people and the world. Tragically, many have chosen otherwise. If purpose is innate, by following it, they can have a massively positive impact. For the sake of humanity, we all have a responsibility to find and then fulfill our unique, positive purpose.
A Motivational Exercise
Pick two well-known people who you feel are not fulfilling their unique positive purpose. Think about how the world would be better if they would fulfill it. Now contrast this with someone who is fulfilling their purpose — maybe a teacher, a firefighter, or your local doctor. Think about the difference these two types of people have on the world.
Imagine for a moment what the world would look like if everyone were fulfilling their unique, positive purpose. How much of a better place would it be? Ask yourself what this says about your responsibility to find and then fulfill your own purpose.
Purpose Must Be Positive
Purpose must have elements that positively impact something beyond yourself. Selfishness cannot be considered life's purpose. Finding your positive purpose will have a hugely beneficial effect not only on you but on those around you and on the universe. Once you realize that, the motivation to find and pursue your purpose will appear.
